Shabbat / Holidays
Shabbos services are held every weekend: Kabbalat Shabbat Friday evenings and Shacharit at 9 AM on Saturday mornings, followed by Kiddush. Our Shabbos afternoons begin with Sefer study led by learned community members, followed by Minchah, Seudah shlishit, Rabbi Herman’s process of p’sach discussion, Maariv and Havdalah. Our monthly event, Shabbat at the Hudson Yards Synagogue, affords members and visitors an opportunity to share a delicious meal and discuss Torah communally under the guidance of Rabbi Jason Herman.
Yom tovim are very active times at HYS. Every sukkot, our spacious sukkah set up in our neighboring parking lot on West 34th Street offers a true communal oasis enjoyed by dozens of our members and visitors alike. Every Hanukkah we have a festive latke Jam party featuring music by some of our talented professional musician members (we are only a few blocks from Broadway, after all…). And speaking of talent, you won’t want to miss our annual Purim seudah, with a delicious meal cooked by our very own, multi-talented Rabbi Jason Herman.
