About Us
The Hudson Yards Synagogue (HYS) is a modern Orthodox congregation situated in a dynamic neighborhood right in the center of Manhattan. Our namesake relates to striking glass and steel behemoths towering high above the Hudson River just south of West 34th Street.
No matter where you are in your Jewish journey, every individual has a spiritual home at HYS, regardless of background or means., For today and always, HYS provides spiritual respite, a place of contemplation and prayer amongst the din and distraction at the crossroads of the greatest city in the world.
HYS sits just a few steps from Penn Station. We are a few short blocks from Port Authority Bus Terminal, the Javits Convention Center, Macy’s Herald Square, Manhattan Mall, the theater and entertainment districts, the trendy Meatpacking, Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen districts, and the bustling westside bicycle route and Chelsea Piers. As our neighborhood is home to thousands of offices and places of business, our members hail from across the entire metropolitan area, from just around the corner to from dozens of miles away — even as far as Rockland County and Lakewood, New Jersey.
HYS has always been a Shul that brings together people from so many contrasting walks of life: empty nesters, young families, singles and seniors, many of whom have been members for decades. We offer services and programming covering the gamut of Jewish learning, from Enlightened Exodus Monday night discussion series, Beginner’s Daf Yomi led by our own Rabbi Jason Herman every Shabbos after Kiddush, to Advanced Daf Yomi every morning at 6 AM.
Please check out HYS’ updated calendar here for our schedule of events, including the precise zmanim for services.
We welcome sponsorships for our weekly kiddush and Seuda shlishit. If you would like to sponsor, please click here to fill out the donation form.
